What is an Antistatic Filter Bag?
Antistatic filter bags are filter elements specially developed to safely distribute static electricity generated in industrial filtration systems. In processes such as plastic production, grain milling, and wood processing, electrostatic fields can form when fine dust particles combine with high-speed air flow. If these fields are not controlled, they can cause sparks and even explosions.
Antistatic bags are produced by weaving or embedding conductive fibers into the fabric structure to prevent these risks. This way, static electricity generated in the system is safely discharged, protecting the filter cage and entire filtration unit from fire risk. As a result, safe, long-lasting, and trouble-free operation is achieved.
How Does the Production Process Work?
The basic raw material of antistatic filter bags is usually polyester needle felt enriched with conductive filaments. This combination provides both high mechanical strength and effective distribution of static electricity.
During production, special hydrophobic (water repellent) and oleophobic (oil repellent) impregnation processes are applied to the fabric. Additionally, the surface is treated with glazing method to prevent dust accumulation and facilitate cleaning. These surface treatments, compatible with jet pulse systems, reduce moisture and oil retention, extending filter performance and life.
Bag fabrics are cut to specified dimensions and joined with strong chain stitch machines. They then pass quality control tests and become ready for use.
